25 cycles of the “Through Others’ Eyes” program have started and ended at Givat Haviva. Each one brought Jewish and Arab youth together and offered participants a new perspective on the world – through the lens of the camera. Each round lasted an entire year, members of each group got to know each other in depth, each participant examined Israeli society with different eyes and formulated a vision for a better future – tolerant, egalitatoursarabicrian, and democratic.

25 years after the program’s inception, the graduates returned to the place where it all began, observing each other and the new reality.

We are excited to see them all again!

For anyone not familiar with it, the program offers joint photography studies for Jewish and Arab youth, and was developed at the Givat Haviva Shared Art Center in 2000. In the program, youth learn the language of photography and through it develop the ability to see the other side in depth and not just on the surface, to see what is common and not just what is different, and to understand that they share many common themes by virtue of being youth. This experience has enormous significance since these youth are the next generation of Israeli society.
