Givat Haviva’s “Kick It Out Program” is a pioneering initiative founded by the New Israel Fund in the early 2000s, to address increasing phenomena of racism and violence on soccer fields. The program was established based on the British “Kick It Out” model, in collaboration with the Football Association, the Players’ Organization, UEFA, the international organization FARE, and more.
The program operates through the Jewish-Arab Center for Peace at Givat Haviva, and produces periodic reports which are sent to regulators, through a series of anonymous volunteers who document incidents in the Premier League. It coordinates an educational process to change the discourse through the media and public sphere, organizing professional conferences, and a professional and ongoing dialogue with the many parties responsible for sports culture in Israel.
