The Jewish public is invited to a series of encounters that delve into the Arab narrative in Israel!
Arab society in Israel is rich and diverse, made up of population groups with different histories, cultures, and dialects. A dynamic society that has undergone a long and complex process in its relations with the Jewish public and the State of Israel over the years – on the one hand integration into higher education, the labor market, politics, and the Israeli public sphere, on the other cultural and social separation, expressed as maintaining a separate identity, living in separate spaces, and experiencing a sense of alienation from Jewish society.
Since October 7, 2023, relations between Arabs and Jewish citizens have deteriorated. The long war did not lead to a violent outbreak, but created unprecedented tension between the two societies, each returning to painful traumas of the past and the two rarely meeting to seek understanding and connection.
In recent months, we have launched the “Narratives in Israeli Society” program, which aims to introduce the narrative of Arab society to the Jewish public and the narrative of Jewish society to the Arab public.
The program is based on a combination of two axes of engagement through action:
• The axis of meeting and getting to know each other focuses on the meeting between group members, deepening their sense of identity and differences between them. The process includes a group track and exploration tours in Israeli society, while encouraging people to leave their comfort zone to explore complex and challenging issues.
• The axis of joint work connects thinking and development processes that require effective communication, cooperation, and initiatives. These activities allow the group to expand its collective learning to diverse spaces and circles of influence in society.
During the encounters, participants will be invited on a personal and collective journey to broaden their perspectives and increase their knowledge and tools for action. We invite you to take part in this unique and inspiring project.
The project includes 5 meetings:
First meeting: Aug 21, 2025 from 3 to 6 pm
Second meeting: Aug 28m 2025 from 3 to 7 pm
Third meeting: Seminar – from Thursday, Sept 11, 2025 at 2pm to Friday Sept 12, 2025 noon (including accommodation)
