The Institute for Arabic Studies at the Jewish-Arab Center for Peace at Givat Haviva has been active since 1963, offering professional level courses taught by an experienced and skilled team of teachers.
The Institute’s unique approach sees language as part of a complete cultural and social milieu. Therefore, in addition to the Arabic language, its courses include content about Arab culture. This comes from the recognition that language and culture are inevitably intertwined, and that familiarity with them is necessary for the existence of a shared society.
The Institute offers a variety of day and evening courses, at all levels, both face-to-face and online, for individuals and groups with special foci, from weekly formats spread over the entire year to concentrated intensive courses. Many of the thousands of graduates who studied at the Institute are engaged in teaching and researching Arabic and strengthening ties between Jews and Arabs in various settings in Israel and abroad.
The Institute for Arabic Studies at Givat Haviva is an adult education institution recognized by the Ministry of Education; approved for preparation for the matriculation examination in Arabic; and approved for redemption of the deposit for discharged soldiers.
